Things seem to be rolling right along here on the Merritt ten day trip. Yesterday we had wide open fishing on both school sized tuna from 12-25 pounds and all the dorado one could ever wish for. We also picked off a few more wahoo. Since everyone has plenty of fish for the table now, we decided to try for some trophies today. It was tough to get a bite but when you did it was the right kind. We ended up with eight tuna up to 250+ pounds. Big fish honors go to Paul Viale with a 255, Ron Moy 210, and Dennis Lyons with one right at 200 pounds. We did have a couple of losses but that's to be expected when dealing with this caliber of fish. During the slow periods, the anglers found good opportunities on the bottom for grouper. There are many chilling in the RSW well tonight. Since we see good sign of big fish here, we are going to try it again tomorrow. Wish us luck.
