Fish Report for 10-24-2012
It looks like a good Cow Long Range season may be ahead
10-24-2012
Bill Roecker
The long-awaited bite on big yellowfin tuna has started. Reports over the past few days have several boats reporting cow tuna in their catches. The big boys are biting off the Baja as well as way out past the Revillagigedos and in the Buffer Zone.
That means anglers heading out on eight to 12-day trips have an excellent opportunity to hook yellowfin of over 200 pounds. Some of the reported fish are close to 250 pounds, and that means heavy gear will be needed. Finding the fish in several places is nothing but good news for long rangers.
