"We had great dorado fishing again this morning," noted Art Taylor in his Searcher report September 26, "along with some yellowtail. It was a little slower than yesterday--but there was a little less participation due to sore arms when the fish were biting so the count reflected that. We left that spot late morning and headed north looking for more yellowtail. Everyone has enough dorado, so we concentrated on yellows the rest of the day. We found an area after lunch that produced about 40 more yellows. They were a little smaller than this morning's fish but still good ones. We primarily used the yo-yo lure method to boat these fish. We are headed north tonight to try for some more quality yellowtail and then tomorrow afternoon we will head northwest to try for tuna the next two days.
"The photo of the day is of Mas Kaneko of Los Angeles with Capt. Cole Crafton and a nice-size dorado. Mas and I have been fishing together now for 40 years. I met him in 1972 aboard the New Bluefin--the first boat I worked on with Kenny Merrell."
