Catfish, Bluegill & Crappie fishing is all good at Lake Morena

Lake Conditions: Surface temperature is 79.1 and 75.6 @ 20ft.
Water Clarity: Water visibility is at about 1' to 3' depending on the wind.

** IMPORTANT NOTE** There are currently no state fishing licenses available in Lake Morena so be sure you acquire one before you arrive.

Trout: Just a few short months until the stockings begin again.

Bass: The Bass are being caught in the 2 lb range through the middle of the lake. All caught and released.

Catfish: The catfish have been the most caught fish lately. Popular baits included mackerel and night crawlers. Larry and Dean were here again this week with the same success as before with several Channel and two Blues. Roy Holder and friend William Purefoy, pictured above both limited with a total of 21lbs 10oz. They were in Cabin cove with a hunk of mackerel. And Snythia Ellis was over at the launch ramp when she fooled 1l b 8oz Channel with mackerel.

Blue Gill: Pumphouse Cove was the spot for the gills but other rocky areas were also working as well. Several unnamed anglers (Larry and Dean) boasted of 25 plus of the gills in one day alone.

Crappie: The crappie bite has shown up once again in small quantities for those who are patient. Reports of half pounders caught near Pumphouse cove.

Carp: These fish are saving themselves for another time.
