Dock Closes: 7:00 P.M.
Last Plant: 1,000 lbs of Channel Catfish Friday August 10th.

Water Temperature: At surface 79.16 f., 6.22 D.O. @ 15' 79.16 f., 6.05 D.O.
Water Level: Low level, private water craft are currently banned.

In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a temporary ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.

Lake Wohlford is offering $20 all day motorboats to seniors on Tuesdays and to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month.

Beginning the day after Labor day Tuesday September 4th the lake will be closed on weekdays, and will remain so through Fall, re-opening for weekday fishing in December with the first Trout plant. The park will remain open on weekends. Next Saturday September 8th is a free fishing day in California no state license required on that day, you do however, still need a lake permit in order to fish.

Catfish are being caught especially on the East end near the mouth of the canal. The Catfish respond well to chicken liver or cut mackerel. Stop by the ranger station for a dough bait recipe that works great on both Catfish and Carp.

The Bass are becoming a little more active thanks to some cooler weather. Dark colored plastics are a preferred bait. The Bass can be found mostly around structure and bite best in the early mornings and late afternoons.
