Capt. Frank Ursitti reviews the fishing season so far aboard the Coral Sea and Ranger 85

Frank Ursitti - Ranger 85
Hi Everyone:
It's been a week or so since we have checked in but it's not because we have forgotten about our anglers who enjoy the updates. It's just because things are moving into high gear and we have been out on the water putting together great catches.
What started out as a better season than last year, but still questionable, the tide has turned and all species are on the bite. If you are at all following the scores you know what I am talking about...on any given trip we are putting together great catches of Bluefin, Yellowfin, Yellowtail, Dorado and even the occasional Albacore. Schools of Yellows, Dorado and Tuna have established on kelps as well as open water schools of Tuna, all of which are our target on a daily basis. Just returning from a 2 day trip the anglers onboard the Ranger 85 amassed a catch of over 200 mixed fish...a large portion of it being Bluefin Tuna.
As September approaches this season is shaping up just as we forecast...a late start and enough warm water to sustain through the month of October barring any storms to change the path of warm water moving in.
We have a great schedule of Ultra Limited 1.5 Day trips onboard he Coral Sea. These trips depart on 8/29, 9/3, 9/9, 9/12, 9/14, 9/16, 9/18, 9/20, 9/24 and 9/28. While the Coral Sea sleeps 24, we limit these trips to 17 anglers so we can offer you the most in service and success.
The 1.5 day trips have always been popular as well as productive affording the angler a full day of sunup to sundown fishing. This has been the cornerstone of our business as this type of trip offers a full day of fishing in a relaxed atmosphere and not having to rush off the grounds in the early afternoon to get home. You have the opportunity to also be on the fishing grounds without the crowds in the afternoon after much of the day fleet has gone home.
The Ranger 85 has a few trips I would like to highlight in this writing as well. While availability remains limited through the month of September these trips warrant mention. We rarely offer any 1 day trips but since fishing is good within in this range we have scheduled an Ultra Limited 1 Day Trip departing 9/28. This trip is limited to only 24 ANGLERS!
In addition we have 1 space available on a 3.5 day trip departing 9/21 as well as availability on a 2.5 Day trip that departs 9/23.
In our opinion the season is just getting going and like all fishing you have to adapt to take advantage of the bite. While we all would love to fish in July and August on our summer vacations we can never predict peak bite cycles...the next two months will be HOT! Make plans now and reserve your trip today. Book online or call us at 619-997-9993.
See you onboard,
Capt. Frank
