FISHING REPORT
Fishing in general, has been better on weekdays as opposed to weekends as there are less people in the park and in the water.

Trout are still being caught but at much greater depths due to the heat. Most anglers are reporting luck at about 45 feet deep.

We did manage to have one bass report of a 1.96 lb Large Mouth Bass being caught near the Lancha Plana bridge just while casting a line over by the rocky shore. Type of bait used was not mentioned.

Catfish are still biting with a 6.5 lb catfish caught in the evening using a worm off of the Rabbit Creek campground at North shore near the Primitive campground area. Catfish like stinky bait. Cut bait, chicken livers, cheese and night crawlers are some of the most common baits used. It's always a good idea to have a few choices available and switch them up if you aren't getting any bites. Still not catching catfish? Try another location.

HINT:
Fresh chicken liver holds on the hook better than the frozen variety which tends to get mushy when thawed.

HOURS OF OPERATION
Both stores are open 7 days a week. Camanche Recreation Area is open 365 days a year. Gate hours are 5:00 am - 11:00 pm
