Bass, Stripers & Catfish are active at Diamond Valley Lake, with the Catfish bite being the best

Surface Water Temp: 75-79 degrees
Fish Plants: No more Mt. Lassen trout plants scheduled.
Lake Hours: 6:00am - 6:45pm

Weather: The Forecasts show temperatures in the high 90's to high 100's this week. There have been strong winds in the late afternoon. Drink plenty of water. Weather has been very unpredictable this week with lightning and rain at random times Please come in the Marina store and tell us your fish stories!

BASS
Bass fishing has been good. Anglers are catching bass anywhere between 30 ft to surface of water. Hector Aquino caught a 4.68 bass using crickets by the East dam. Kenny Murphy from Santee caught a 7.56 lb bass on gunfish on the west shore. Majority of the fish reported were caught on senkos or dropshotting pink or purple plastic worms. Colored plastics, such as, Margarita mutilator and Morning dawn have been effective.

STRIPER
Striper fishing is going strong. Recent catches have been in multiple areas. Mike Southerland caught a 16.04 lb. striper near the West Dam. Along with Bernard Hanson who caught a 8.74 lb striper using sardines by the I.O tower.

CATFISH
Catfish have been going off the hook this week. Robert from San Jacinto caught a 7.77 lb cat using nightcrawlers on the shoreline. Carrine Bell from Victorville caught a cat weighing in at 6.23 lbs using nightcrawlers with garlic. Typical bait for the cats are nightcrawlers and shrimp.

TROUT Trout have been very slow. The best depth for the trout are under 80 ft of water. Try trolling your best lure by the west dam. Powerbait, mini jigs, and nightcrawlers work well for trout when they are being caught.

PANFISH
Redear , crappie and blue gills have been hitting this week. Anglers reported limits of bluegill using jigs and mealworms.
