Skipper Andy Cates got into the fish on his first day out of port August 12. "We had a real nice first day with an overall great grade. 90 Yellowfin from 25 to 45 pounds. A few looking to be in the 50 pound range. Bluefin from 15 to 35 pounds with 50 of those. Most of the Bluefin in the 25 to 30 pound range. Also in the mix dorado on the kelps. Tomorrow we will be offshore again and hoping for another great day. One long drift in the morning and one spot with everyone has one on style fishing. Nice We will report again tomorrow."
The Rooster sent along a photo of Chris Dunn with a nice tuna from the afternoon's fishing. Chris has been the voice for introductions on Bill Roecker DVDs for many years. He doesn't get to come over from Arizona (He's the weatherman for a Phoenix television station) very often, but as a former deckhand on the Spirit of Adventure you can see he still knows how to fish.
