Hello Pacific Queen Anglers,

It has been a while since our last e-mail however not for lack of anything going on. We have been extremely busy running everyday, therefore it has been hard for me to make the time to send out an e-mail. Fishing has been good. We have been able to put together a catch on basically every trip this year. There is plenty of fish around and we have been getting our anglers on them. For most of the last couple of weeks our catches have consisted of mainly Yellowtail with a scattering of Bluefin Tuna. For the first part of those weeks the average size of Yellowtail was 8-12 lbs. with some standouts going as big as 35 lbs. More recently though the bulk of our Yellowtail has been in the 18-25 lb. range. These have been the biggest Yellowtail I have seen on kelps consistently. I have seen big Yellowtail on kelps before but not in such quantity. These are like Guadalupe Island Yellowtail but offshore. It has been incredible to experience and I know our anglers have enjoyed the opportunity to catch these trophies.

As of just a few days ago we have started to see Yellowfin Tuna and Dorado make a showing on the local scene. We knew they were coming from our buddies on the long range boats and we were happy for their arrival. Together with the Bluefin starting to bite things are looking very good for our near future. The water locally is the best we have seen in a few years and I am sure that there is going to be some incredible fishing in even one day range in the days and months to come.

We have a bunch of exciting trips coming up over the next couple of months. From 1 to 3 day trips we have the trip that you are looking for. Here are a couple of trips that are right around the corner:

Drew Card called in with this update for the Pacific Queen, "We had a nice day out on the water today, beautiful weather. Fishing was a little tougher for us today, we still got some nice fish. We ended up with 28 Yellowtail and 5 Bluefin Tuna. The Bluefin were all in the 20 - 25 lb. class. The Yellowtail were a 12 lb. average with a handful of that nicer grade Yellowtail, 20 to 30 lbs. We have one...... Read More
