The Heroes showed up to the Excel yesterday afternoon not really knowing what to expect. They put their gear onboard and were then driven to Ingrid Pooles house via limo bus to enjoy food and drinks with the owners and friends of the Excel. Ingrid is such a great hostess, and her hospitality knows no boundaries. Time seemed to fly by as Ingrid told numerous stories about Bill Poole and the legacy he has left to all of us. We then moved the event over to one of our favorite restaurants, the Bali Hai on shelter island drive for more drinks and some culinary delights. We departed last night around 9:30pm and headed south in grease calm weather. Today we fished 80-100 miles from San Diego where we had excellent yellowtail fishing on kelps with some blue fin tuna mixed in. Everyone had a great time. The gang is all downstairs enjoying another fantastic meal prepared by chefs Jason and Brett. Since there is plenty of yellows in the RSW now, we will concentrate on tuna for tomorrow. Wish us luck.
