On the Water Report from the Ranger 85, as they board a Halibut around 50 lbs., June 9, 2012

Frank Ursitti - Ranger 85

Capt. Frank called in from the bridge of the Ranger 85, "We're just wrapping up our day here on our 1 Day Trip with 31 anglers on board. We managed limits of Rockfish. We had 20 Lingcod, in addition to that we had 3 White Seabass and 3 Halibut. One we're going to bring home and weigh at our offical weigh station at Channel Islands Sportfishing. This fish has got to be pushing 50 lbs.

"We had really super nice conditions this afternoon. We all know the wind has been blowing making conditions somewhat challenging here at the outer islands. If the trend continues and the weather finally gives us a break there are pretty good signs of life out here. Around the islands look for Seabass and Halibut counts to turn up here. We had squid last night we had live squid on board today so keep on eye on the counts.

"We do have a 3 Day Trip at the end of the month that has availability. You can check out our complete schedule of trips on-line at Ranger 85 Website. We'll get some pictures posted up. We turn around again right away and head back offshore. We had some whopper Halibut our here today"
