Fellow Sportsmen,
Well overall it has been a tough week fishing. We do have live now. Live anchovies are actually very very nice. And throughout the week we have been seeing more and more may come into the bay. Early on in the week it was a real struggle to find any halibut or bass that wanted to bite. We would work at it for a while and then move over to shark fishing. In fact I hate to say it but we had a skunk trip couple days ago. I had a good crew that knew how to fish and we worked hard all over the bay. There were fish caught but we were not able to put one in the box. The following day they started biting for us and we had, I think, 6 or 7 opportunities with 3 in the box. We did lose a nice one, which was on my rod. The halibut went to 14 pounds. The same day I talk to other boats that had some bass and they said they looked like spawned out bass. So we believe the bass are starting to show up and on their way. Also the halibut we've seen in the past few days I believe are a new wave of fish and with the next set of tides I think the fishing will improve dramatically. In 4 days the rockfish season opens and the salmon yesterday showed up a lot closer to our area. So it looks like in a week it will be time to make some outside runs up the coast for combo trips on halibut, salmon and rockfish. Enjoy the photos
