Chico Kid’s Fishing Day
5-4-2012
Steve Carson
All area children age 14 and under are invited to Chico's award-winning (and completely free) "Hooked on Fishing, not on Drugs" kid's fishing event, which will take place from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM on May 19, at Horseshoe Lake in Upper Bidwell Park. Some 8,000 pounds of catfish will be planted in the lake prior to the event.
Bait is provided, but feel free to bring your own "secret" catfish bait. Plenty of loaner rods and tackle will also be available to borrow for free, but those who have their own tackle are encouraged to bring it. Remember that lead sinkers are not permitted in Horseshoe Lake. Free fish cleaning will also be provided by Chico Rotary. Call 891-4757 for more information.
