We departed on Friday for our annual late spring 8 day trip. We left San Diego with a great load of bait and headed straight down to the ridge. We arrived Sunday morning and fished all Sunday for excellent action on yellowtail, we also released marlin and black seabass throughout the day. Monday morning was some of the best yellowtail fishing you will ever see on 18-35 pound fish, all up on top biting with absolute recklessness. We have a group of true surface iron enthusiasts on board and it was as fast as you could go all morning long until we departed the shallows, needless to say they are in seventh heaven after what we all just experienced.
We departed to fish the ridge and headed south into 71. 0 degree purple water loaded with life, we are presently having great action on Small yellowfin tuna, Dorado and skipjack as we venture more to the west and towards our destination for tomorrow. This has been the perfect start to a spring 8 day trip and we are only 1/3 of the way through our fishing time, who knows with the conditions we are presently working in what the future will bring? Time will tell and we are looking forward to every minute. Our weather has been brochure perfect so far the entire trip and we hope it continues but will work with whatever the good Lord giver us, I will report back tomorrow night.
