What a great day here in the Lower Zone. The Accurate Reels group got the whole "long range" experience today. The tuna started biting in the dark and kept on biting throughout the entire day. The tuna are mixed up sizes from 50-200 pounds with most of the fish being cookie cutter 75 pounders. Late in the morning it turned into a wahoo festival and everybody got in on the action. It seemed like the wahoo were a little bigger today on average and I could see some real trophies hit the deck. It always amazes me how healthy this fishery remains down here, there is really good sign of fish and it looks tasty for our upcoming trips. Some of the gang took the afternoon off just relaxing and chatting it up with their friends at home via the wifi in the galley. The hardcore guys pulled on big tuna all the way into the dark until we made them quit and go eat dinner. Big fish of the day goes to a couple of buddies Mark Bithell with a 196.4 pounder and Terry Mines with a 209 pictured below. Both caught in the morning on big baits. We are now into our final well with two more days to fish. Hopefully everything stays exactly the way it is.
If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619)223-7493 to get in on the action.

Just after breakfast, we had a small window of opportunity when the current started moving just barely but it was enough to spark a few bites for us. We picked up eight tuna 80-165 pounds and just when it looked like things were going in the right direction, the current stopped... again. It is amazing how dependent this fishery is...... Read More
