Southland Bass Club holds contest at Lower Otay,February 25, 2012

Lower Otay Reservoir Staff
A total of 45 fish were caught weighing in at 91.7 lbs. The contest included 16 boats and 20 anglers. A good time was had by all.
Other fishing news on Lower Otay shows a good Blue Catfish bite. Gary Smith, pictured of Compton caught the largest Blue Cat that weighed in at 25.9 lbs. Gary caught a total of 5 cats and the stringer weighed 93.8 lbs. Buddy Banks caught a 16.5 lb. Blue Cat. He used mackerel while fishing in Harvey's Arm. Bruce Brown of Chula Vista caught 4 Crappie, the largest weighed 2.5 lbs. He was using crappie jigs while fishing in Harvey's Arm.
