Another good week of fishing at Diamond Valley Lake

Surface Water Temp: 59-60 degrees
Fish Plants: Next plant to be determined
Lake Hours: 6:15am-4:45pm

Weather: Forecasts show sunny skies with temperatures in the 60's, ending the week with mid-high 70's. Wind is picking up in the afternoon.

BASS
Bass are starting to come up shallow. You can find them on the surface to 20 feet of water. Many bass reported this week ranging from 4-12 lbs. Jigs, plastic worms, and swimbaits (after trout plants) have all been effective. Dropshotting plastics such as; Morning dawn, Martens madness, and Red crawler have been working well!

STRIPER
Striper fishing has been decent. Cut bait (sardines or anchovies), have still been effective. Trout pattern swimbaits like La Sliders and Huddlestons work well after the trout plants. John Carbajal of San Jacinto, in photo # 1 caught a 6 lb striper using worms.

TROUT
Trout fishing has been good. Powerbait, power worms, mini jigs, and nightcrawlers are working. Tristan Harrison and Shane Hansen of Rancho Cucamonga (pictured above) caught two 4.5lb trout on jig.

PANFISH
Many panfish reported this week. Nightcrawlers are working well for bluegill, crappie, and redear. Matt Chung of Tustin in photo #2 caught a 2.3 lb crappie on a nightcrawler. Tristin Harrison and Shane Hansen of Rancho Cucamonga caught a 1.40 lb bluegill on a nightcrawler.

CATFISH No reports this week. Anchovies, shrimp, and nightcrawlers are the best baits for Catfish.
