Albacore Bite's On!
6-24-2007
Bill Roecker
What do you say when the albie score improves overnight by a factor of ten? Whoopie! That's what happened to the day fleet yesterday, as the longfin total jumped from 27 to 280 for June 23.
In on some of the best of it was Markus Medak and his New Lo-An, operating from Pt. Loma Sportfishing on a day and a half trip.
"We saw a lot of fish," remarked Medak on the dock June 23. "They were mostly 18 to 25 pounds, in 65-degree water at 60 miles. There are fish as close as 25 miles.
"We got more bait fish than troll fish. We saw a few bluefin tuna. There's good sign of bait and fish; and it's not too warm."
