The sailfish bite has been very good for the anglers, especially on the 6-8-hour charters and the peak of the season is still 4 months away. The Atlantic barracuda bite has been offering the anglers good action with the fish averaging in the 15-35 lb. ranges. The overall fish counts for the week reflected a mixed-bag catch of 12 species that included 14 sailfish, 3 wahoo, 34 barracuda, 33 bonito, 9 Spanish mackerel, 5 king mackerel, 14 dorado, 4 blackfin tuna, 1 amberjack, 5 snapper, 4 triggerfish and 13 grouper, for a total of 24 days fished.

PM Climate: Partly cloudy but warm and comfortable days and evenings with temps that ranged fro 65 nights to 83 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Very favorable through the week with temps that were stable at 81 degrees and good water clarity and light and variable surface breezes.

Best Bait: All of the fish were taken on fresh caught ballyhoo, either rigged and slow trolled from the outriggers or down riggers, some baits were skirted with a variety of colors and some baits were cut or stripped, depending on the fish sought after.

Bait Supply: Excellent bait supply that is caught fresh on a daily basis and supplied to the sportfishing fleet.
