Total Trout Plant: 21,500lbs of rainbow trout have been stocked since Nov 16th

Weekly Trout Plant: 2,000lbs of trout are stocked EVERY Tuesday! More trout stocked per acre than ANY other lake in O.C!

Trout fishing continues to be awesome. Weekly and bi weekly stockings have made for fantastic action for shore anglers, boats and float tubers. Inflated night crawlers dipped in garlic scent working well. Power Bait in white and Chartreuse also working well for bait fisherman. Bait fisherman are using short leaders with the majority of fish coming from shallow water. Orange, Chartreuse and White trout worms, jigs and crank baits working well for those throwing artificials. Fly fisherman continue to hammer fish in the flats using bead head midges in black and red patterns. Water temp is currently 54 degrees with 6 - 8' visibility. Cold water temps along with warm weather have forced the fish to the bottom of the lake. Trout bite has been best the first 4 hours of the day with the bigger fish chewing in the afternoon.

Big Trout of the 2011-12 season: goes to Ron Skyberg, pictured above of Anaheim who on his birthday weighed in a 14 lb. trout caught on chartreuse power bait in Zone 1 from the shoreline. Ricky Fukute of Gardena caught a 12 lb. 10 oz. trout jigging a white Trout King tube jig in the flats off a boat. David Pierson of Garden Grove caught an 11 lb. 08 oz. trout jigging a chartreuse Lip Ripperz jig in the flats off a boat. Tom Moua of Diamond Bar topped off his 5 fish limit with an 11 lb. 05 oz. trout caught on an orange power worm in Zone 1 off the shoreline. 19 year old Korri Mastroluca of Lakewood landed an 11 lb. 06 oz. trout soaking rainbow power bait in Zone 3 off the shoreline. Chris Herber of Aliso Viejo caught a 10 lb. 08 oz. trout soaking brown power bait in the flats off a boat. Craig Wiswell of Hermosa Beach weighed in a 10 lb. 03 oz. trout throwing a Lip Ripperz Z spoon in Zone 1 off a boat. Marina Parze of Whittier landed an 8 lb. trout using a fly and bubble on the left hand side off the boat docks.
