Today the conditions were not the same, but the guys still managed to have a fair pick on the tuna before it was time to roll up the line. Tomorrow the Gang will be switching gears for some Yellowtail fun - breaking out the Long rods, yoyo gear and having the flyline ready as well. Brian said the weather was getting better this afternoon, so they should get plenty of rest on the ride up for a full day at the Island.

6-19-2007Report in from the boat at 6pm this evening. Jeff said after he had turned in his fish report the yellowtail bite was still going strong, the Anglers managed to produce a good grade averaging 18-30#. This morning they had a decent day of tuna. Lots of fun and action continuing until about noon then bite was off. Today's total was 53 tuna, ranging from 30-60 pounds. A couple topped out at 70-80#. What had a great day - we woke up and had a little bit of current, and after adjusting current-wise by the book, the tuna were right where they were supposed to be. We had 2-5 fish going at all times on 30-60lb tuna for the better part of the morning. When it was all done, the final count was 55 tuna. By lunchtime it was over and so we spent the rest of the day trying misc. spots and catching...... Read More
