"We had a good day of fishing yesterday at Alijos Rocks," report Red Rooster III skipper Joe D'Acquisto October 4, "with a mixed bag of yellowfin, yellowtail, dorado and wahoo. The tuna ranged from 18 to 22 pounds with a couple that are 70 to 100 pounds. The wahoo are 35 to 60 pounds. The yellowtail and dorado you had to weed through. We fished for a couple hours in the morning and are heading home. We decided to stay here since it was the only game in town for tuna. This morning the water rolled over and we had a sample of all the species. The weather is ok but is suppose to get choppy. Wish us luck on the ride home. We'd also like to thank Sonny Jones and are sponsors AKU Lures, Ballyhood Int. Lures, 5 star Processing, Jimmy Decker Guided Trips, Pelagic Gear, and Anglers Center for all the great gifts and prizes. On behalf of the crew and myself we'd like to thanks to a great group of guys. This is my last trip on the Rooster and like to say thanks to all and good fishing to you: Bent rods and smoking drags to all."
