SHOGUN SPORTFISHING TRIP UPDATE (092111)
9-22-2011
Bruce A. Smith
OVER 40 POUNDS TAILS (092111)!!! The weather side of 'lupe was good to us again today with all the of the 62 yellowtail Landed weighed in over the 28 pound mark and a handful of them going over 40 pounds. What is really nice to see and do with time on our side is to explore the seen much less fished weather or west side of this big island. The big calico's bit just about every time the Shogun swung into water less than 20 fathom, the rock walls are over 1000 feet shear straight up out of the ocean. If it is true about home-guard yellow tail then these fish would be them, big bruisers with scars and moss growing on their backs, they eat the big yo-yo jigs and 2lb. mackerel.
The winners from 20th-
First 30 pound yellowtail of the day-Joe Simpson, 4 pack of AA Albacore swim bait
2nd was Toni Marsden, open water 606 jig container
3rd, Bo Watson received "Long Range Fishing" by Bill Roecker
Winner of yesterday's grand prize was Mike Berard and is taking home a Seeker Black Steel 6470.
Gary "XL" Halderman won a reel cover.

Instead of going to where the fish were biting, be the first to the place the fish are going to bite.
