El Capitan Report with Alan Clowers
9-13-2011
El Capitan Lake Staff
Alan Clowers had a guide trip out at El Capitan yesterday with a client from Chicago. El Capitan has been good lately, and Clowers has been on them consistently. He put his client on over 50 bass on a combination of topwater, scroungers, flukes and drop shots. "Today was awesome, it was up there with my most memorable days" Clowers proclaimed. He had his client Ed start out throwing spooks and buzzbaits in the main lake area in the morning, and then chased the low light areas in the north end with the same baits as the sun began to light the rest of the lake. Ed had about 25 fish at this point, when they came across a couple schools of breaking fish in the back that resulted another 25 or so fish on scroungers, flukes and pencils. "Ed was hoping we caught some fish but had no idea that were going to destroy 50 fish up to 4 pounds" he added.
