Sacramento River Salmon Catch Is Still Hot
9-11-2011
SportfishingReport.com Staff
The weather was different today, with a temperature change and some wind due to a baromatric pressure change, so it took a little persistence to get the fish going. In the end, however, that persistence paid off, and everybody fishing with Kevin Brock ended up with limits. It was a really fun day with a fun group of people.
Shelby H. of Dixon, Ca. landed her first fish ever as part of her limit, and it was a beautiful chrome 17.8 lb king salmon! Nice job, Shelby. The man of the day was none other than the birthday boy, Grant M., celebrating his 21st (really, his 40th), who started off by catching his limit first.
As in previous days, the fish were caught by drifting roe on light tackle, using 12 pound P-Line main line, 10 pound leader, and G. Loomis GL3 light rods with Penn Slammer spinning reels.
