The Fly Shop
Current Reservoir Conditions:
Greg Dean reports in with good, but demanding fishing on Keswick. Flows out of Shasta Dam are erratic causing reservoir elevation changes near the dam to fluctuate up to 8 feet. Greg has been using sinking lines to find Keswick rainbows holding at depths of 10-15 feet.
The Fly Shop's ? Tips:
A motorized boat is a must for gaining access to the part of this reservoir that holds concentrated numbers of rainbow trout. Look for slow water, near boulders. Swing, suspend, strip nymphs, leeches. Dry fly fishing happens late in the summer, near sunset.
