Corky’s Charter on the Royal Polaris

Royal Polaris returned to Fisherman's Landing September with skipper Billy Santiago Jr. at the helm, after an eight-day trip with 32 anglers that ventured south as far as the Petrel Bank, below Thetis. Corky Yokoe was chartermaster. The catch was very good, with an autumn mixture of species, including tuna, yellowtail, pargo and dorado. "We had fantastic fishing for yellowtail and dorado," said Billy, "and beautiful weather."
James Meteer of Highland won second place, and posed with a nice bluefin tuna, as did Sash Smiljanish of Northridge with a good pargo, or snapper.

Third place, Tom Wals, Anacortes, WA., 37.0 Blue Fin
