Trout fishing continues to be very good from Anderson to Red Bluff. Half pounder steelhead are spread through the riffles and flats from Red Bluff to Los Molinos making up for our late shad run. Unseasonably mild weather (we haven't seen 100 degree highs yet) has slowed the shad fishing. With high 90's and 100 degree days predicted this week, look for numbers of shad to appear over the next week. Small #50 Hot Shots and nymphs to match the hatch have been working well for our jet boat spin fishing trips.

With the Red Bluff Diversion Dam gates in place, we are getting encouraging salmon counts. While it is way too early to predict a trend, we are currently at 1.5 times last year's salmon count for this date. If you plan on fishing for salmon this year, you should make your reservations now. We have a number of openings in August, but Sept and Oct are filling up fast.
