Current River Conditions:
Some of the reports we have been receiving describe truly great fishing! Seems like the anglers comfortable with a 40' cast are doing best. The dry fly fishing is tough for everyone! These wild rainbows have seen it all by now, but don't let that stop you from fishing to rising fish in the morning! Swinging or suspending nymphs under an indicator has been getting us tight to the big rainbows Fall River is famous for! There is plenty of rainbow trout populated water on Fall River any time of year. We expect the fishing to remain consistent through September. When it comes to great scenery, solitude and rainbows averaging 16", Fall River delivers!

The Fly Shop's ? Tips:
The "Fall River Twitch" has been the most effective technique on Fall River for decades. Anchor your pram upstream of rising fish. Cast downstream and across, then feed line out to extend your drift a long ways downstream. This way the fish see your fly first, and enables a precise presentation without spooking the fish. The Fall River Twitch is equally effective whether fishing dries, swinging nymphs or indicator nymphing. If you're casting to a pod of rising trout, work from the outside in and you can often pick them off one by one. 5-6wt rods are great. Recommended fly lines; RIO Gold floating line and an extra spool loaded with RIO Deep 3.

River Fact:
Eurasian Watermillfoil is a threat on this river. Click here to read more about what Eurasian Watermillfoil is, what is being done and why Fall River has a bright future.
