Predictions for the Fall on the Truckee

8-19-2011
Matt Koles

The Truckee River is still fishing well, night's are cool, back down into the 30's-40's again, and we still have a ton of water for this time of year. Things are shaping up nicely for an epic fall.

Visions of brown trout are dancing in my head. Book your trip as days are filling up fast. Pick a state, or do the two states one day program. Both sides of the Truckee River are going to produce some big fish this Autumn. Right now we have hoppers, crays, stones, caddis, and mays. Fish are in some faster pocket water now, mid river slots and seams are the way to go. I love getting on that hopper dropper combo now, fish are looking up for something big to float by. The photo shows Stephen getting it handed to him, Truckee River style.
