Keeper Dave here, not quite the writer that Tim is, but I'll do my best. Today we explored offshore in an area that's produced Blue fin for us. We trolled up a couple of jig strikes for a few nice Yellowfin and then went on to find kelp paddies to mine. We had some pretty good fishing for Yellowtail and a nice Dorado, not big numbers but we're optimistic for tomorrow's trip south. Dinner was Tri Tip prepared to perfection by Brett and Rusty. Lots of great guys (and a gal) on this trip and I'm having a great time getting to know them. The plan for tomorrow is to patrol a little closer to shore looking for paddies to fish on the way to the Rocks. Weather is perfect and it's a great time here on the Q. Today we had a give away from Melton's Tackle and there was some great stuff won. Brandon and Cris from Melton's had some shades from Costa, a few reels from, a Baja Special from Penn, and a Talica and a Trinidad from Shimano. Shimano also gave waxwings to all with some hats also. Everyone got a bag with swag in it. Gamakatsu ringed hooks; a few hats, waxwings, stickers and some other misc. items were in the bags. Thanks to the entire sponsor's and to Melton's for the goodies and they still have more. We are going kelping tomorrow and will let you know how we do. The Q crew's out!!
