Jennifer Heintzelman

Catch of the Week: Master Fisherman and BBQ Chef Tim Prem along with a few friends bring in a whopper of a stringer...caught on a combination of red/gold Thomas Bouyants and Marvel Flys all along the back of the lake near the inlet. Weather: Highs in the upper 70's and evening lows in the high 40's. Looks like full sun all week. Here is a local site that is usually quite accurate www.mammothweather.com. Tactics/Bait: There has been a mosquito hatch going on this past week and it seems the fish are feeding on that. Red & Gold Thomas Bouyants top all other baits this week. Night Crawlers seem to have gone out of favor but there have been a few with luck using PowerBait. Trolling 7 or 8 colors pretty deep with Needlefish. The inlet at the back of the lake has been the most productive place to catch fish in this warmer weather. Other locations to try are the outlet, North Shore, South Shore, Creek, Jetty, Handicap Pier and Hangman's Tree. Here is a list of other baits that are good to try: TroutKrilla, Salmon Eggs, Trout Teasers, Midges, Panther Martin, Thomas Bouyants, Green Wooly Booger, White Mini Jig and Garlic PowerBait. Stocking: DFG has stocked again this week. Sunrise - Sunset: Sunrise this week 6:02am - 6:07am and Sunset 7:58pm - 7:51pm.
