Pacific Queen San Martin Trip Report
7-19-2011
Bill Cavanaugh - Pacific Dawn
We spent our last week making the long run to San Martin for Yellowtail. Although we were on 1.5 day trips we decided that the long run was our best chance to get our anglers on fish. We had a lot of fun and some pretty spectacular fishing. Our first two trips were better than the last, however all three produced some great catches. We caught Yellowtail to 30 lbs to go along with incredible Calico Bass, Sheephead, and Red fishing. Although the trip was a little unconventional with the late departure and arrival, our people had a great time and all were able to bring home some meat.
Today there were a couple of long range boats in 1.5 day range that made a catch on Blue Fin Tuna. Both boats made catches in the forties. This is very exciting news and we don't want to waste any time in getting down there. Tomorrow night we leave on 1.5 day trip and we will be fishing offshore and targeting this Blue Fin Tuna. Hopefully this fish will continue to bite better and better like we have been waiting for, and we will be in store for some great days out on the water in the weeks to come.
We have a couple of exciting trips coming up in the next week that will get you on the fish weather they be at San Martin or offshore. Friday night we leave on a Blackwater sponsored 2.5 day trip. Monday we leave on a Berkeley sponsored 3 day. Both trips will have plenty of give-a-ways for our anglers and will give you the best chance to get on fish.
We look forward to seeing you aboard the Pacific Queen soon!
