Hello Anglers,
Today we spent the day looking outside the banks above Cabo in hopes for finding some wahoo, Dorado or some yellowfin. We covered alot of miles of water for not much. There were several areas of Dorado chasing flying fish around but they were not interested in what we had. Our highlight of the day was when we came across a very spread out area of porpoise that was holding a good amount of 80 to 220 plus pound yellowfin. We were only able to get them to bite a bait with a hook in it on a few occasions, but the show they put on was priceless. 100 and 200 pound yellowfin coming completely out of the water right next to the boat and we had a 175 pounder swimming back and forth across the stern of the boat chasing sardines with his fins sticking out of the water. For our efforts we were only able to hook 9 of the big yellowfin and only landed a handful. Our biggest was a 210 pound yellowfin which was caught by Jason Marquette using 60 pound Trilene Big Game line with a 7\0 Eagle Claw 2003 circle hook and a mackerel. A couple of the fish that we lost we got to get a good look at one of them being a 175 pound fish that we lost 3 feet from the gaff(HEARTBREAKER). The other Picture that I am sending is of Tom Thorstenson with a 138 pound yellowfin he picked up today.Seeing this big fish down here already is a good sign of things to come, for those of you on up and comming trips you want to make sure you have the proper gear to tackle these big yellowfin, you never know when you will get a oppertunity to catch one of these grumpy yellowfin. We are going to run into Mag Bay tonight to try for some mackerel and run back down to this area again tomorrow in hopes of locating this big fish again.Wish us all luck, we'll need it. P.S.Happy 5 year anniversary Marissa, sorry I could not be there, I love you, Shawn Reported by: Shawn Steward

Through-out the day we did a couple of seminars and got all the passengers rigged up properly. We had beautiful weather all day and the passengers enjoyed reading on the sun deck, playing cards in the galley and watching movies in the galley. Tomorrow we will...... Read More
