Hello Anglers,
We departed on the 4th for the annual 18 day Ralph Mikkelsen "Big Fish Special". We stopped at the bait receiver and took on a beautiful load of 6-8 inch sardine with some nice anchovy mixed in and cleared Point Loma around 1130. Weather yesterday was overcast and 10 knots of wind with a very nice ride. We have 23 anglers onboard with a nice mix of veterans and newcomers. We awoke this morning to another day of beautiful weather. The crew conducted a wahoo seminar in the morning and the passengers spent the day rigging tackle and relaxing in the sunshine. Lunch today was spaghetti and garlic bread prepared by Chef Jason Fleck. We have seen many whales on the way south; pretty cool. We have also seen some sign of albacore, but we haven't caught any yet; hopefully that will change. We continue to head south to our destination and will keep the reports coming in the days to follow. JUSTIN

Hello Anglers, Today we spent the day on the beach looking for some yellowtail. Our weather was a little windy but there was no swell with it so it was plenty tolerable for us. We tried several spots for yellows and only found two that wanted to bite. So we had our two yellows and the day was winding down and we were starting to have our doubts for our day and then at 1700 we had a spot of fish...... Read More
