As the weather has gotten better so has the fishing at Silver Lake

The weather has finally improved and with the nicer weather, so has the fishing. Another load of 900 LBS of DFG fish was put in on Thursday 6/9 and Rush Creek also received a load of catchables this week. Worms have still been a steady to catch fish and PowerBait have been producing as well. Try using Salmon Peach , Garlic or Chartreuse Power Baits as these have brought in some nice size trout and some great stringers.

If you like tossing a lure, try a Gold/Red Thomas Buoyant or a Brown Trout Thomas Buoyant from the creek or shoreline and if you want to troll, try using a Tazmanian Devil Or a Rapala. The water temperature has been steadily increasing; currently 44 degrees, and those fish can be found about midrange on the depth finder.

The bugs are just starting to hatch, so start to think about using some dry flies. Stick with what has worked the most consistent over the years; a mosquito, sierra bright dot or a black ant. If you want to troll with a fly streamer use a olive matuka, a green wooly bugger or a hornberg.

Grant Lake has also been producing some very nice fish, especially where Rush Creek dumps into teh South end of Grant Lake. Vince Cepaglia caught a nice 3lb 3oz using a Thomas Buoyant and Doug Griffith landed a 2lb 4oz using a Needle Fish.

Don't forget about the Rush Creek Clean up slated for June 25th at 8am in the Silver Lake boat launch. Come by and help clean up Rush Creek and have a nice BBQ with friends.

Happy Fishing!!!
