Truckee River Outfitters is having a clinic July 16 & 17
6-7-2011
Mike Curtis
The clinic is being held at the 5 - DOT RANCH.
Truckee River Outfitters obtained permission from the Ranch owner to host a clinic at Famous 5 - Dot Ranch. This world class private fishery is well known throughout the West as one of California's best stillwater fisheries.
5 - Dot is a huge working cattle Ranch between Susanville CA and Eagle Lake. The 400 acre lake on the Ranch is loaded with huge Rainbow Trout sometimes reaching 5-8 pounds.
Doug Ouellette and Rob Anderson are the instructors, they have been fishing and teaching anglers advanced stillwater techniques for over 15 years. Doug is well known in the Reno area for his expertise on many area stillwaters such as Eagle lake, South Fork Reservoir, Davis Lake, Knott Creek Reservoir and Frenchman's Lake just to name a few. Rob has emerged on the scene in the last 10 years hosting club outings, teaching large clinics on both stillwaters and moving waters, doing talks at shows and fly club meetings all over the West. Rob is also well known for some of his famous fly patterns like the Maholo Midge and the "Loco" Series of Dry Flies including 5 - Dot favorite "Loco Ant". The clinic will be a 2 day event and will cover many stillwater techniques, proper rigging, shoreline wading as well as float tube, pontoon boat and small pram techniques. There will be lots and lots of free time to practice and catch some of these big beautiful Rainbows at 5 - Dot Ranch.
Dates: July 16-17 (two full days on the water) sign ups are limited
Price: $495*
Price includes - 2 days rod fee, two days guide fee, lunch at the lake each day and some equipment.
