"FIGHT THE MLPA" FUNDRAISING DINNER SET FOR MAY 22
The Partnership for Sustainable Oceans (PSO), Ocean Access Protection Fund (OAPF) and United Anglers of Southern California (UASC) have announced plans for a collaborative "Fight the MLPA" Fundraising Dinner, Sunday May 22 at the Atrium Hotel in Irvine. Proceeds from this event will be used to continue the court battle against the flawed and mismanaged Marine Life Protection Act.

Special guest speakers for this event include George Osborn' lobbyist for the PSO, with an insider's report on the MLPA fight. Also taking the podium will be Gordon Robertson, Vice President/Government Affairs for the American Sportfishing Association, with his "behind-the-scenes" view of the MLPA legal battle. Robert C. Fletcher, former Fish & Game Commission Deputy Director, former President of the Sportfishing Association of California and the named litigant in the lawsuit against the MLPA, will also provide his unique insight.

Together, these three key players will explain the legal strategy of the OAPF, how anglers and the industry have succeeded thus far, and what will be required to continue this fight to a positive conclusion.

In addition to a delicious plated dinner, the evening will feature plenty of valuable door prizes, raffle items and silent auction items.

The event will kick off with no-host cocktails and mingling time beginning at 4:30 p.m. The dinner runs from 5:30-8:00 p.m. Tickets for this limited-seating event are now on sale ($65 per person or $550 for a table of 10) and can be purchased by calling UASC headquarters at (562) 494-9900.
