Good Monday Morning anglers, Captain Frank checkin' in from the RANGER 85 with a report from our weekend. We spent Friday and Saturday offshore fishing the Legendary Outer Channel Islands on the first 2 Day Trip of our season. With fantastic weather prevailing, we managed over 600 mixed fish the first day of our trip fishing from sunup till sundown. We anchored up that evening and went to work looking for fin bait to target lingcod on day two. We managed to snag a partial well and believe me, that was a challenge...all onboard were tired after a full day of angling. Saturday morning found us targeting the elusive dragons, where we managed a few, but not the slaughter fest we had hoped for. We rolled up our sleeves and got busy once again targeting quality rockfish and other island species. For the 34 anglers onboard, we managed 659 rockfish, 558 white fish, 63 sheephead and 27 lingcod for a combined total of 1307 fish for the trip. We didn't stop there...Sunday found us back out again on a 1 day trip offshore island fishing this time with 36 anglers onboard. We found great weather once again and also had a little bit of live fin bait. It was clear to me that those onboard had lingcod on their minds and we had to find a few. We fished a little different area towards the end of our day and landed over 20 keepers in one drift. We achieved limits (360) of rockfish, 197 white fish, 61 sheephead and 27 lingcod for the day. We had a great weekend, enjoyed some good laughs and had fantastic weather and fishing. I want to thank all those onboard this weekend on both our 2 day trip as well as the 1 day on Sunday. There were so many regular customers onboard,I felt as if I was on vacation fishin' with all my friends. Thanks again to all.
