We received many replies asking questions about various tackle and gear for salmon fishing. Here are answers to the more frequently asked questions. 25 to 30 pound test monofilament is recommended. A rod with compatible weight capacity and a reel comparable to a bait caster, no spinning rods. Various spoons, such as Krocodiles and Apex, baiter gear and hoochies can be used for your terminal tackle. All of which we carry in our shop. We will also be carrying tray bait this year. ALL hooks must be barbless for salmon fishing. 3/0, 4/0 and 5/0 sizes depending on the line weight and size of the tackle. We will be trolling, unless we get a huge amount of salmon in the area, it is the best way to cover a lot of area.
Regulations:
The minimum size for salmon is 24 inches and the limit is two per angler.
