SALMON SEASON OPENS APRIL 2ND, 2011 Hey Anglers, with all the rain and storms southern california has been having this season, many locals feel this is going to be a great salmon season. We here at Ventura Sportfishing also do.. our home port of Ventura Harbor is known for its salmon skiff fleet because "the grounds" are alomost right outside our harbor! With the DFG now releasing an opening date of April 2nd, we have decided to put a trip online after the opening weekend. WHY AFTER? ...fish reports and location of course! After the opening weekend, between the sport fleet and big boats, we will have the intel needed to put you on the fish. Hopefully the season starts fast and furious, and Monday April 4th you'll have your chance to join us in our first salmon special of the season! The Island Spirit will be limiting its load to up to 30 anglers, but no cost increase to you.. the normal $65 price will stick, and we will be departing at 5am to make it a full day trip.
