Monterey Bay Fish Report 05-31-07

5-31-2007
Bayside Marine

The fishing was about the same as yesterday with scores ranging from 0-2 fish a boat. There is a ton of bait from the Pajaro to the Soquel Hole from 120-250 feet of water. The few fish that were reported were from the Soquel Hole in 200-250 feet and on the inside in 130 feet of water. The commercial fisherman are shut down for a month so I am sure we will have a good month of June. The water was calm all morning until the wind blew around 1:00. The Halibut and Rockcod has been good near the Westside of Santa Cruz and near Capitola. There have been some nice Seabass in Capitola working the bait balls in 10-20 feet of water.
