Bass
DVL bass fishing has yet to ignite, but to anglers delight small males are moving into the shallows revealing that they are at the predawn of the spawn. For most anglers the drop shot was hot. Morning dawn and margarita mutilator were failsafe colors for drop shot lovers. If you're looking for something big you can drag a C rig 40 - 60 feet with a brush hog, reaper, or creature. LA Sliders fished deep were the swim bait of the week accounting for a few heavy hogs. Greg Springman of San Bernardino caught a 6.5 pound bass fishing with a fluke.

Trout
Trout train has been non stop! Shore anglers are bashing the bows, but boaters are missing the mark. The up coming Lassen stock should keep the trout on track. Fishing from the bank with crawlers or floating bait is the best way to hook a stout trout. Panther Martins, mini jigs, and Roostertails are great lures for those 'bows. Shannon Hunter of Menifee caught a 6.92 pound trout fishing from shore with a jig. Doug ramos of palm springs caught a 5.62 pound trout fishing from shore with a jig. Eli Louk of los Angeles caught 3 trout at 6.67 pounds. Paul Greewell of Redlands caught an 8.63 pound trout fishing with a Thomas Boyant. Joel Ruiz of Palm Springs caught a 6.97 pound trout fishing with Powerbait.

Striper
Anglers found striper fishing in decay leaving us little so say, but with Lassen on the horizon the bite should climb in no time. LA sliders, Lunker Punkers, Z Plugs, and Huddlestons are the most reported baits as of late. John Clay of Whittier caught a 10.42 pound striper fishing near the east dam with a swimbait. Bill Stone of Hemet caught a 10 pound striper fishing near the east dam with a swimbait. Terry Warp of Homeland caught a 11.37 pound striper fishing from shore with a Rapala. Derek Quinonez of Perris caught 3 striper at 9.15, 10.33, and 4.71 pounds fishing from shore with a producer plug.

Catfish
Not many cats were caught this week. Rawson cove and the inlet were familiar spots to try. Most cut baits, nightcrawlers, or Hog Wild will catch the cats. Kevin Shin of riverside caught a 6.68 pound cat fishing with powerbait. Taliv Traylor of Fontana caught 3 cats totaling 28 pounds fishing the east shoreline.

Panfish
Panfish has been slow except for those in the know. A few tight lipped folks have caught some crappie where it is along the dams and where it is rocky. Live worms, crickets or jigs are the best baits.
