Royal Polaris Sportfishing Trip Update 12/12/10

BIG START (121210)!!! We started fishing around 6 this morning and it took Jim Mitchell about 5 minutes to start it off by hooking a nice tuna. He remained hot all day and eventually landed a 205 right behind George Iwasita's 207 pounder. The majority of the rest of the fish were 100 to 130 and several more 150 to 175. How's that for a first day! As always getting bit can seem like the most random event in the universe and some guys are hooked constantly while others struggle. I would say between the kite, trolling and jigging for wahoo (of which we got several),and bait fishing for tuna, everyone on board landed a fish today. I've been on my share of these trips and that just doesn't happen all that often. If fishing continues at this pace tomorrow, we'll be in the second storage well by noon. Weather is so nice I won't say anymore about it in case I jinx it. For the first outing we all worked together beautifully. The ultra limited load doesn't hurt either. Not much more a guy could ask for, maybe a great dinner which I can already smell cooking even up in the bridge. We've got a lot of days left and if the catching keeps up we're all gonna need a vacation when this vacation is over. POEM FOR THE DAY: The one job the tuna could land Didn't work out as well as he planned. When the economy got slow He's the first they let go That's right, the poor guy got "canned".

If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619) 226-8092 to get in on the action.
