OUR LAST DAY (120510)!!! For our last day the Tuna put on a show, the morning bite was the best yet for this trip. At times we had everyone that was in the water was hooked up to large Yellowfin Tuna. The toughest part about getting a bite was keeping it away from the Boobie birds, which to put it lightly, were ferocious. We blasted off for San Diego at 15:00 and will be at Fisherman's Landing on Thursday.

Today I was able to sneak in a cast with the diminutive Hercules 60XH and Accurate 600 BX2, loaded with 80lb. braid and topped with an 80lb. short piece of Blackwater fluorocarbon. The bite was close to instant, the fight didn't take any longer than normal, the fish was just over 100 pounds. The gear preformed flawlessly, outstanding. Although I wouldn't recommend this tackle for this area, due to the fact of the chance of hooking truly huge tuna here, it did give me a chance to put the screws to this light gear.
