2005..?AGAIN (110510)!!! Well Folks,
Don't you just love it when a plan comes together? Well that's exactly what happened today on the R.P., our plan came together in spades. When we set out on the trip, we had visions and hopes of fishing that would far surpass anyone's wildest dreams. So with a great weather window in the forecast, and lots of ambition, we set out on a quest for big Yellowfin Tuna, and now for the result...
We hit a grand slam! Our morning started out slow as we looked at several different spots of porpoise only to come up short, but with lots of time left in the day we would persist. Shortly thereafter would we find the mother-lode and we went from zero to sixty in a matter of seconds! Large crashing Tuna 10 feet from the stern would be the norm as we settled in for a drift that lasted all afternoon. We had a day that was very reminiscent of the great big fish action we were blessed with in 2005. Many of our anglers achieving their personal best on this fine day.Our action coming by way of kite and fly-lining, with both squid and sardines. We had 8 fish over 200lbs, with 8 more from 180-199lbs, and seven more from 130-180. We'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Enjoy the photos and get ready for fall as the action has officially begun. We will try for a repeat tomorrow, however it will be a challenge. One that we are anxiously awaiting. R.P. crew.
