Puerto Morelos Fishing Report
11-4-2010
Larry Edwards
The Joseph Fernandez charter, fishing aboard the "HAMMER", had an
interesting fishing day that reflected a 5 fish variety that included
1 sailfish, 1 yellowfin tuna, 1 king mackerel, 2 bonito and a blue
runner. Guess that's what makes Puerto Morelos so different is the
wide variety of fish in the area that can easily include surface and
bottom fish on the same trip. The overall catches for 12 days fished
reflect an 11 fish variety that consisted of 5 sailfish, 2 yellowfin
tuna, 1 king mackerel, 1 wahoo, 2 blue runners, 4 Atlantic barracuda,
15 bonito, 6 trigger fish, 3 grouper, 1 yellowtail snapper and 6
amberjacks.
PM Climate: Mostly cloudy with temps from 61 nights to 87 daytime highs and currently light and variable surface breezes.
Sea Conditions: Near excellent with temps at 82-83 throughout the area.
Best Bait or lure: Continues to be the rigged and unrigged ballyhoo for this area.
