Silver Lake Fishing Report

10-9-2010
Andrew Jones

After our first true cold snap of the Fall and a dusting of snow earlier this week, fishing has exploded in the last part of the week. We have seen a few decent size fish but mostly stringers upon stringers of catchable size trout. Most fisherman are trolling early morning and late evening when the lake is calm and glassy. They have been killing them trolling an Olive Matuka or a Green Wooly bugger just below the surface and have also been doing well with a frog pattern Tasmanian Devil or Thomas Buoyant. From shore or still fishing, using worms and your standard Power Baits, Salmon Peach or Garlic have also been doing well. With only a month left in the fishing season it looks like it will end on a much higher note than it started this season. The Fall colors are truly in full swing, so whether your catch fish or just enjoy the scenery, it is spectacular right now.

The Silver Lake Resort is a full service resort in June Lake, CA. We offer accommodations for fisherman throughout the trout season. We have cabins for all size groups, an RV park, a Cafe with fabulous food and a general store to meet your needs. If you would like to book a trip to Silver Lake call them at (760) 648-7525.
