Coastal Rivers Fishing Report 05-17-07

5-17-2007
Kaufman Streamborn

With the dry weather patterns of late the rivers are low and very clear. Reports have been sparse with little action on the summer steelhead or springer fishing.??Any significant rainfall should move fish in, freshen things up and stimulate the bite. ??Stealth, smaller flies and longer leaders are key to hooking fish under these conditions. Fish something smaller than the starling sized Intruders, leeches and prawns you were fishing this past winter.

Necanicum ??? closed, trout fishing opens May 26

Nehalem ??? No summer steelhead in the watershed. Trout fishing opens May 26.

North Fork Nehalem ??? closed, trout fishing opens May 26

Cape Meares Lake ??? open for trout and bass. No recent reports.

Miami River ??? closed, trout fishing opens May 26

Kilchis River ??? closed, trout fishing opens May 26

Wilson River ??? open for summer steelhead and spring Chinook. The river is low and fishing has been slow. Trout fishing opens May 26.
